    Hey All

I'm Craig from Ventura, California; about 55 miles NW of Los Angeles & maybe 25-30 miles south of Santa Barbara, on the coast.

I just bought a Master Forge Smoker from Lowes yesterday, & have been doing a lot of online research. Found this forum & seems like everyone knows their stuff, & also seem very friendly here too so I decided to join!

Please bear with me as I acclimate to my smoker & related questions, re: set up, recipes, rubs, marinates, etc !

I look forward to learning & sharing!

Welcome aboard, Craig!  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  There are plenty of friendly, knowledgeable folks who really enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input here, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

S2K9K, yes thanks as I have indeed started to use the navigation bar for help & advice & just for  pure interest as well!

I look forward to reading more & eventually advancing ! Seems odd, but I am kind of nervous, mostly about the constant temps. I have just ordered a set of 3 damper control units as well as a charcoal grate for obvious reasons!

     Many thanks S2K9K, much appreciated!

[IMG]to SMF!  We are so glad you joined us!

We love to see pictures of what you are cooking (or what we call q-views here at SMF).  To "upload the q-views" just follow the directions here and it will be easier. If you are using a cell phone, an IPad or a kindle, go to the main SMF page and click the Mobile button. Will make the uploads a bit faster too.

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

If you need any help roaming around the forums....just holler!  Happy to help out!

Kat, I apologize for not seeing this earlier, forgive me, but thanks for the nice welcome & message & I will again read over the TOS.

Yes, I will eventually post some photos but as of yet, I have not smoked a thing. I did the food free season burn & awaiting help on the vent locations for my first attempt.

    Thanks again Kathryn :)
