hello from southeast missouri

first...great site! the users here really have a wealth of smoking knowledge - thanks for sharing!

my name is matt and i live in southeast missouri. grilling and bbq-ing are some of my favorite things to do and i'm excited to add smoking to this list. other than food, i enjoy anything outdoors, movies, cigars and woodworking.

i started on a cheap gas grill...moved to a large barrel style charcoal grill (where i began to experiment with smoking/slow cooking things)...got a char-broil infrared commercial series grill...and finally inherited an old 'ecb' that no one was using and have successfully smoked ribs, pork butts and "fatties" but am definitely still learning.

My name is Matt also. I saw an infra-red grill yesterday at Lowe's that Ive got my eye on now. You are definitely on the right path starting with an ECB.
