Hello from South Texas

  1. Hello everyone.  I have always wanted to learn smoking/BBQing/grilling techniques but just never took the time.  My dad always took care of it but after he passed away last summer, I was tasked with preparing the Thanksgiving ham.  Fortunately, my mom had won an already smoked, spiral cut ham and I only had to put it in the oven and take it out several hours later.  With that said, now is as good a time as ever to learn what I should have long ago.  I am researching building a smoker and hope to get started on it after the holidays are over.  I could just go and buy one but that is just not my style.  I will have a lot of question but promise to search and read first.  Thanks and I am looking forward to making some new online friends.

  3. Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
    About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
    and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
    We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
    Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
    because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
