Hey

Im Uptonogood, im pretty new to smoking but not new to eating! I purchased my smoker around a year ago but only just fired it up and experieinced a few difficulties that brought me to here!

My smoker is a pretty cheap model (foxhunter, may be even more poorly designed then the brinkman!) but am hoping to tune it up to last me this season with a view to upgrading come winter.

I live with my girlfriend who is an amazing cook, and my dog (german shepherd) who is great at cleaning up any mess made when cooking! Between the 3 of us we should be able to prepare, cook and eat anything!

I work as a mechanical engineer, with some background in construction and electrical engineering. My other interests include motorcycles (I have too many, allegedly!), Music (I play bass & Piano) and beer.

I look forward to learning some hints and tricks from you guys, and maybe sharing my perverse sense of humour!

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a windy but nice day here in East Texas, and the best site on the web. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Hello uptonogood,

I too am in the South of UK and have inherited a couple of Smokers, a wooden Cold Smoker cabinet and a Meco Hot Smoker. I see you have engineering knowledge, so thought you may be interested in doing some 'mods' to your smoker. I have a video with some ideas at - www.youtube.com/wrinklymedic - Hope it is helpful.
