Hello everyone my name is Brandon and I am from south Arknasas. I recently got out of the Marines and have moved back home. While i was in I got to taste and learn some great BBQ from all over. I was stationed mostly in NC but also Hawaii, so needles to say I have had pig in the ground wrapped in bananna leaves to the tangy sauce of the outerbanks. I have had a brinkman pitmaster that I gave to a friend in NC when I left and now all i have is a weber silver one touch, but it can smoke with the best of them. I am in the process of turning a 60 gal air compressor into a reverse flow with a square firebox, thanks to the wife for buying me that flux core welder.

I'm from El Dorado which is directly center of the state close to Louisiana. Where your wifes family is from has some of the best duck hunting in the country. Every once and while I have to take my step daughter over to Texarkana to her orthodontist right on the Texas/Arkansas line, that drive is only about an hour and a half. On the way their in Stamps, AR, on Hwy 82 their is a place call C&C packing where you can get all natural beef and they also have some great bbq. You can Google C&C packing, Stamps, AR and see their website. You can even get a whole or half a side of beef for around $3.75lb. Thanks for the welcome Gary, also check out my build and let me know what you think.

P-S   know exactly where that is. Back in the 80's I did a lot a work at Lion Refinery in El Dorado ( Not sure what if is called now) Also did some work in Stamps. Was in the Crane & Rigging business also Steel Erection.

Very interested in your build, I am using a RF we built. As soon as it starts to cool off and #2 son's work slows down we have two propane tanks on the ground just waiting to become smokers. We try to one or two every Fall and through the first of the year when construction slows for the holidays. The picture in my avatar is my currant smoker.

Welcome aboard Brandon!  Glad you've joined our group.  This is the best place I know for sharing ideas on smoking, grilling, curing, etc.  You'll find there are lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.

And thank you for your service to our country!
