Hey ya'll!  Another newb. Thought I'd say hello.

I currently don't own a smoker (boo!), but am in the process of building, yep you guessed it, an ugly drum smoker (yeah!).  I have the drum, but I'm still in the planning stages, trying to decide the finer points of the build. Hopefully, in the next two weeks I'll be up and running.

I've split my life up between the Carolinas and Arkansas, with Arkansas being home. I did go into a bit of bbq shock when I first moved to the Carolinas... their bbq wasn't the same as what I was used to.  Eventually, I came accustom to their style and definitely enjoy it, but I'll take some beef brisket over it any day of the week.

I may do a thread of my UDS build, but then again, there are hundreds (or thousands?), so not sure what I'll be able to show that's not already been shown in great detail.  Who knows... I'll take photos as I go and see what happens.

I look forward to reading all the valuable information within these forums and enjoying some delicious bbq a result.

Welcome to the forum. A UDS is a great smoker you made a good choice. So what if there are a few hundred builds posted. None of them are yours. Go start a thread in the UDS section and let us watch your progress. Its fun to share your builds. We get to live vicariously through your build when we aren't doing one of our own. Don't forget to post pics. We love pics. Be it a smoker or meat.

Welcome typojoe! :welcome:
Yup, we here in NC love our BBQ chopped and smothered in vinegar based sause. Just don't put that vinegar in our coleslaw!
