My name is Kevin. I am pretty new at this. I had a Brinkman charcoal bullet for a year and really enjoyed doing a turkey for the family on T-day. I tried ribs, chicken and a few fatty's last year. This year I did a butt and it turned out pretty good. I had bad luck holding temps real good with this unit and I didn't like the clean up. I just picked up a GOSM used twice for $50.
Man this is so much nicer. I did a butt last weekend following a lot of the guide lines from here. It was awesome. Everyone loved it.
5lb boston butt took 9 hrs start to pull with 1.5hr rest time.....
I wanted to try a Brisket this weekend for slicing. The only one I could find was $5.50/lb $40+ dollars. Is this normal?
I thought I read $1.50 - $2.00 per poung on here?????
Anyway, I will be learking around and learning as I go....
