Hi everyone. Just got into smoking last summer and love it. I just picked up a vision grill last weekend and did some steaks and burgers so far. Everything turned out great. Looking to do a pork butt this weekend, any good suggestion

This is a great forum, I think you will like it here.

There are many theories on the best way to do a pork butt.

I suggest you do a search in the search bar at the top and you will get lots of ideas.

Here is a link to my last pork shoulder which I didn't foil and an earlier post where I did.

You'll notice in the foilded version, I posted pictures as I went along and you can see all the help I got while I was doing it.

You will get arguments about:

foiling (shorter cooking time with a softer bark) vs not foiling (longer cooking time, heavier bark).

injecting versus not injecting

Spraying the meat occasionally or just leaving it

It's just a matter of personal taste.

If you want to make friends, post pictures of that butt. We love pictures (Qview).
