New to the activity - my Akorn arrived yesterday!  Played with it a bit after the initial burn and was able to hold 230-250 on my first try.

Been lurking around and I gotta say the Fatties section is likely what hooked me and brought me into the fold.

My wife is working full time now (7 days a week really) at her food trailer so I'm now on the hook for supper - and loving the BBQ thing but the el-cheapo charcoal grill I bought to tide me over until my Akorn arrived just isn't very good.  I was able to play with some smoke flavour but not able to actually smoke anything.

That changes today.  I bought all manner of things to run through it from veggies to bologna to a chicken and a BBQ box from my butcher.

Anyway - still soaking up knowledge like's it's free and will pot up some of my efforts... hopefully I won't be asking to TOO much help.  haha
