I'm a definite newbie, never smoked anything before. We had dinner at a chain barbecue joint a few weeks ago. I had some smoked turkey breast that was delicious. I got to thinking, how hard can it be? Went home and did some research, settled on a Masterbuilt 30" electric smoker and was all set to start this past weekend, and it snowed!! We're all seasoned and ready to go. Hoping to find lots of helpful info from the experienced folks here! Oh, and Jeff's book is on the way from Amazon!

Welcome and go bucks!

I don't do electric but to each his own!

You will love it, many swear up and down by that MES.

Let us know when you need some pointers!

Hopefully we're done with snow around here until December.

Enjoy your new smoker, post some pics of your smokes and always keep food safety in mind.

You have come to the right place to learn about smoking. If you want to try something, just enter it in the search bar and you will find several techniques. If you post pictures while you are doing the project members can give you advice as you go through the project.

I look forward to your posts.

Hello and welcome from East Texas, nothing like getting a new smoker. Start out doing some simple stuff, that way it will give you time to get familiar with your smoker. Chicken is cheap, simple and hard to screw up. throw on some sausage too, love that smoked sausage.
