Hello all, I am Darren from Iowa (born and raised in the the tundra of North Dakota). Just started smoking this summer. Like we all know it's addicting!  But even with that fact i have only smoked a few things since I have starte. Have done a couple of pork shoulders a couple rack of ribs. Was really brave in the begining and did a brisket. They all turned out OK and got good comments on the ribs I did from the wife and friends. I recently did a "test run" turkey before thanksgiving so i don't screw that up. I tryed Jeff's Cranberry recipe this weekend. Was not to bad but need to tweak somethings before next week.

As of now i have a Grill Pro propane smoker and so far it works for now. Haven't been able to make up my mind on to what i want. Every type of smoker i feell has its purpose. Had and Eleletric smoker but after one use the door warped and wouln't shut.  So i bought the propane one. I thought a smoker like a masterbuild style would be nice, or maybe a Traeger at some point.

But that is a little about me and I am excited and happy be apart of this fourm. Look forward to chating with some of you.

Later All...
