Hi everyone, my name is Ken.  I'm an avid do it your selfer that does not know his own limits. Never smoked any type of meat before and never owned a smoker but love BBQ and always looking for a challenge.

So what do I do? I found a 120gal vertical propane tank cheap. Now  in the process of looking for ideas and help from everyone here, to build my very first smoker.

Glad to have you with us.  I wish I could help you on making a smoker but I can't.  If you look around I am sure there are some threads somewhere on here.  I am also pretty sure it will be just a matter of time before someone jumps in and can help.  I am in Richmond.  What part of VA you in?  Once you get the smoker built I look forward to helping then.  Take the E course because it is helpful.

There are forums here designing and building your own smoker and a 120 gal propane tank is a great item to build one around. You have a few options regarding design and browsing those forums to see what other's have built from a similar tank will give you lots of great ideas.

Dude where are you getting the nifty images?  You had the beer one on my thread and this one here?  Am I missing them in the smiley lists?

Welcome aboard.  Lots of fabricators here.

Also, the search tool at the top of the page will give you more ideas than you will want to deal with.

Grohl there is a smiley icon at the top of the reply page.  It brings up a pretty good sized menu of smiley's.

Good luck and good smoking.
