Hello from Northern Indiana

  1. Hey everyone! My name is Chris, and I am becoming a bbq addict!  I live up here in Northern Indiana near Notre Dame. I'm very new to the smoking scene, and just started modding my char broil offset. I've lowered the exhaust, made a charcoal basket, tuning plates are cut and ready to go. I put a steel nipple in for the probe port, sealed it up with some rtv silicone sealant. Still have to work on the baffle and I should be ready to try it out!! The information on this forum is exceptional! Looking forward to chiming in when I can! Thanks everyone for all your help already. [IMG]

  8. Perfect thanks Chris. I'm also new to the world of smokers and I'm trying to get an idea of what to do for tuning plates.

3 pcs of about 1/8" steel. 1-10",1-8", and a 6". I had a maintenance guy at work cut these up for me, didn't cost me anything!
