I am a Network Admin by day, father/husband at night, but enjoy grilling/smoking meat in any free time I have. Nothing like enjoying your favorite beverage while tending to a smoker for several hours and sharing the fruit of your labor later with family and friends.  I have always borrowed large trailer smokers from friends in the past when I wanted to smoke some shoulders, butts, drunken chickens, ribs or the occasional whole hog. I would consider myself at the intermediate skill level with smoking and I am excited to learn from other members here. I recently purchased an OK Joe Longhorn and I look forward to testing/learning my new smoker. I have done several of the mods to my OK Joe that I found on this forum and hope to get it burned in/seasoned this week so I can smoke some meat this weekend!

Welcome from SC. It's good to have you on this great site. There are a lot of really fine folks here who are always eager to share their ideas, recipes and tips. All you need to do is ask away and keep reading. Enjoy hat new smoker.

Good luck and keep smoking, Joe. :grilling_smilie:

Thanks guys. I'm hoping to season the new smoker Friday evening after work. I plan on spraying the entire inside of the FB and CC with Pam, getting the temp to about 350 with charcoal/wood, and testing temp regulation for about three hours. Does that sound sufficient for this first burn and to season the smoker? :grilling_smilie:
