Just picked up a Masterbuilt 30 BT last night and ordered my amnps yesterday.  Prior to this I have only smoked ribs on a gas grill so I am definitely a beginner! Look forward to spending plenty of time on this forum as well as failing, learning, and succeeding in the smoking of the meats!

LOL... I spent a week one weekend in Huntsville! Black Ice everywhere.....

They ever finish the back 9 at the Robert Trent Jones up there? The front 9 was pretty nasty my last trip. LOL.. that tell ya how long ago that was.

You mentioned the MES30(BT) make sure and try and find a good source for temperature sensing and check the calibration on your unit. Maybe the BT will solve all the MES's historic problems but, always best to check that puppy just to be sure.

I have a Gen1 MES30 and I wish I could have a MES40 that works as well.

This is a great place to come, numerous threads on most everything, and when you get to specifics people usually over indulge in offering suggestions. Its all about learning how to get your smoker to make good food and doing it your way.

Its a great site, and I know you are going to love smoking.
