Hello From Nice and Hot Henderson, NV

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum, my name is Dan. I posted for the first time yesterday. I have had a Masterbuilt Electronic Smokehouse and have been smoking for just under a year. My wife and I love living in So. NV but the summer heat kind of puts a damper on smoking. I have mainly smoked brisket but did attempt a turkey at Thanksgiving last year. The bird turned out suprisingly moist and flavorful, I was very happy. Like I said, my first post was yesterday and I received numerous replies within a couple hours...you guys are awesome! Thanks

Hi Dan, Welcome to the SMF madness. Yep the people on here are great with any problems that may pop up. I don't think there is a question about smoking meat that they cannot answer.

Welcome to the SMF. Here in Iowa we smoke in the summer and not nearly as much in the winter. Sounds like you've got the opposite problem. Only you don't have to shovel. LOL

Lived in S. Arizona for a while so I know how brutal the summer heat can get, though as I sit here in Jersey with the RIDICULOUS humidity it makes me miss that dry heat. At least out there it will cool off when winter hits and it finally starts to rain

First off welcome to SMF. Your gonna like it here cause there are alot of good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smokin. Next I think you should look up the E-course it's free and very informative and it will show you the basics of smoking. Then check this out
