Hi,
Mike B from New Hampshire and better known around the web as Healeydays. My avatar is my 59 Austin Healey 3000.
I'm new to smoking and will be getting my propane Charbroil vertical smoker just before the 4th and plan on trying it out on the family. I'm a pretty accomplished regular cook as I do the cooking for the family (wife made sure of it as fist time she invited me over to eat when we were dating, she burned everything). so I'm not scared of trying new things.
When I'm not under the hood of an old temperamental British car, I also am a wood turner making custom pens, so woods at my house, local and other is usually plentiful.
That brings me to a question that I will ask elsewhere on the forum. What would you do as your first piece to smoke that might be a little forgiving as this will be the 1st voyage of my smoking hobby?
