Just got a new MES $40 w/ window from Academy on black Friday. For $200 it was worth the standing in line at 5 am in the cold. I hunt and fish and do almost all the cooking at the house. I had an old propane smoker that finally fell apart. I had a friend that has a MES 40 and I liked the way it maintained the temps while we were out on the water prefishing for tournaments. When we would return to the cabin dinner was ready. I smoked a couple of small briskets and had to try the fatty once I came across that thread. I've got a turkey fatty w/ pepper-jack, cream cheese and spinach on now, along with 3 racks of baby backs and a pork butt that I am going to try Jeff's pork burnt ends recipe. This site is a wealth of knowledge and the people really seam nice and don't just post a bunch of smart-ass remarks. Seems like a rarity these days. I will post some pics soon. Thx

This was the first fatty I tried. Sausage peperoni, jalapeno cream cheese wrapped in bacon. Was good but very salty due to some weber chipotle rub I put on it.

Welcome from Canada, Cullin.

I agree with you about this forum. The people are great and I have learned a ton since I started smoking last year and found this forum.

Your fatty looks terrific! I look forward to more of your posts.

Welcome to the group Cullin, from another NE Oklahoman!  You'll find that this is a great place to share ideas on smoking, grilling, etc.  There are plenty of folks here who genuinely enjoy helping one another.  Looking forward to your input, and just ask when you need anything...someone here will surely have the answer.
