Hey Folks,

I've been lurking about here for a few months, and have had a couple of outstanding smokes, in large part to the people on this site. So I figure it is about time to create an account and say Hi.

I've had one of the larger Char Grillers for a few years, and added the side smoker this spring. I actually found this site when googleling mods for that grill. I've done the smokestack vent extension thing, added two thermometers near the grill surface on either side, and flipped over the charcoal pan, and that works much better now.

I did some baby backs on the 4th, and my first all nighter last weekend (two shoulders and a brisket. I should post pictures ;-) ) And they turned out great. And I've been doing ABTs about once a week all summer, which while probably not the best for my health, have been fun.

So yeah. That's me. More of a computer and music geek, but I've been doing a lot of food lately, and I'll be lurking about and maybe chipping in if I have anything to share.

Welcome to the SMF. Glad to have you aboard.

Welcome funmerlin,
Hmmm there is nothing wrong with being a music geek. I have always thought that a good day of smokin was not complete unless there was a nice background of Electric blues music.
