Hello from MT

My name is Jeff and I currently live in north central MT about 50 miles south of the Canadian border. I have a cheapo electric smoker right now but am thinking about building a wood smokehouse or an UDS.

Welcome to the SMF. I just built a UDS this past winter to go along with my two propane rings and I love it. You will not regret building a UDS.

First off welcome Jeff to SMF. You'll like it here cause there are abunch of good folks here that would just love to help you out with just about anything to do with smoking. We really like to have newbies here because they can bring in a new propective to how things are done. There's nothing like a new set of eyes to give and new way to make things that little differant to make things alittle better. So I hope you know about the Qview here.

It's also free and it will give you the basics of smoking. So after all of that you just need to go grab something to smoke and if you have any question just post them here and we will answer it quickly so you don't have any mishaps with your smoke.

Welcome to the SMF...by any chance is the town you live called Shelby? I lived there as a kid but now reside in Wyoming.

Thanks everyone. I think the UDS may be the way to go versus the smokehouse but I'm not sure where to find a UD.

I actually live about 200 miles west of Shelby. I've been through there though. Nice area but it is windy.
