I'm new to the site but not bbq and  smoking meat!  I started out bbqing on a weber kettle grill I bought from my grandma about 25yrs ago and must say it was a great little grill and only cost me $5 as she never used it and said to enjoy lol!  After about 5yrs on the weber I invested in a Holland propane grill and enjoyed many a cook on it as well, one of the best grills I have ever owned.  About 12yrs ago my father-in-law built me a 16" X 30" offset smoker that I still use today but I am in need of stepping up to at least a 24" X 48" offset and can't wait to find one!  I am an IT guy for an oil company here in Midland and cook out as often as possible.  I look forward to hearing from all of you and will soak up all the knowledge I can!

Keep on keeping on,

Bill

Bill,

Welcome aboard. Great site filled with useful info and helpful people. I was in your neck of the woods yesterday on business and will return often over the next several months. Let me know when you've got a good smoke going and I will bring a fork!

So, isn't 'Summer Mummers' a blast? My last trip they said they broke the record for popcorn, and apploigized to all the folks that didn't get their drink in a timely manner because of some fool who kept ordering cocktails in beer pitcures....... <shrugs> Rude and crude oilmen!  ROFLMAO I love the sheep herder to the Rawhide song!! Yeiiiii ha!

Narobi County Club still open?

Oh well, welcome to the boards and there is a weath of knowledge here and as an IT you know how that search engine works. BUT the folks here will always discuss the different possibilities when a question is posed. You already know, there is no one way to do it, only the way you and your pit enjoy.

Pull up a chair, grab a cold one, put your feet up and have a good time.

Pleasure meeting you.

Bill,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with there opinion on the subject.
Always remember the only dumb question is the one you don’t ask!!
