Hello there from the great state of Michigan! I'm new to the forum, as well as very new to the smoking meat game. I actually have 5lbs of chicken breast, with a brisket rub in my smoker for the first time as we speak. My wife just got me a Masterbuilt 30" electric, and I'm using it for the first time today (wish me luck).

My name is Josh, and if you have any tips or tricks to offer, feel free to share. Thanks for reading.

Good afternoon and welcome to the forum, from another cloudy and cool day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Welcome from Louisiana. You will find a wealth of knowledge here from members who are happy to share it. Don't hesitate to ask questions and take advantage of the search bar.

So my chicken turned out pretty damn good, even my 4 year old (who hates all chicken unless in nugget form) couldn't get enough. 225 degrees for 2:10.

What no q-view?? Pic's or it didn't happen! What type of wood did you use to smoke? I really like a cherry/pecan mix with chix. Mix it up experimenting is part of the fun!!

I was experiencing technical difficulties with my damn phone, so no photos of this smoke. I used pellets, a blend of maple, hickory, and apple wood which I think turned out really well.

Glad you joined the group. The search bar at the top of any page is your best friend.
About anything you wanna know about smoking/grilling/curing/brining/cutting or slicing
and the list goes on has probably been posted. Remember to post a QVIEW of your smokes.
We are all smoke junkies here and we have to get our fix. If you have questions
Post it and you will probably get 10 replies with 11 different answers. That is
because their are so many different ways to make great Q...
Happy smoken.
David
