Hello everyone.  I'm Enoch, 44 years old, and I was born and raised in Washington, DC.  For the last 7 years, I've lived in Bowie, Maryland, just outside of DC.  I bought my first smoker, and MES 30" in 2010, and just received my second 40" MES about a month ago.  The 40" I bought in 2012 basically rotted out, at least the wiring did.  I purchased an AMNPS recently and although I can get a consistent smoke, its not intense enough, so I'm hoping to get some help here.  I've been trying new things and perfecting my food since the beginning and look forward to learning and growing as a member of this forum.  When not smoking meat, I love to ride my motorcycle and am a single, widowed parent to my 8 year old son.

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  A word of warning: There is no 12 step program for this one!  Many good folk here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Hi Enoch! WELCOME! I am not far from you in Elkridge. This is a fun addiction for sure. Did you happen to go on Rolling Thunder the other week? I left from Old Glory HD, good ride - lots of waiting though.

Hey!  That's really cool.  We definitely have a rare name.  I hope you don't have as much trouble as I do getting people to pronounce it correctly.  Also, it was my father's name, and his father's name, so I am actually the 3rd in the line of the rare name.

VERY weird. Is Indiana the Bizzaro Maryland, or vice versa?  If you tell me you only have one child, a son named Elijah, I am going to run for the hills.

No, two children. However, my Grandmother marred a gentleman named Elijah after here first husband passed away.

FYI "Enoch was one of only two people in the Bible who did not die. The Bible says ... Only one other person in Scripture was honored this way: the prophet Elijah" (Google)

My middle initial is R.

The kids in school, many many years ago had a heyday with my name, so I used my initials.

You are the only other Enoch I have conversed with outside of my Father and Grandfather.

I have ben BBQing since 1987, attended three BBQ classes and serve as a BBQ judge at a local BBQ event.

At one time, I had seven smokers, now down to three. A Tejas, Brinkman and Smokin-it #3.

Have a great weekend.

Enoch
