Hello everyone.  My name is Ben and I live in Portland, Maine.  I moved up last year from Greensboro, NC where I lived most of my life.  There was plenty of good BBQ down south, but I had a tough time finding anything worthwhile in New England so I decided to take matters into my own hands.  I am pretty busy between my new job, new wife and new baby so I decided to go the easier route at first and start with an electric smoker.  I am using the MasterBuilt Electric Digital Smoker with built in meat thermometer.  So far I have smoked a pork butt and some baby back ribs with pretty good results for a newbie.  Much of this is thanks to the Smoking Meat book by Jeff Phillips.  I found this to be a good resource, but I would like to expand my horizons past this and join this site.  I am excited about my new hobby and can't wait to learn more.
