Hello,

So I have really been lurking around these forums for several weeks and I can't tell you how much I appreciate all of the posts on here.  I recently bought a New Generation MES 40" after reading a few reviews on amazon and on here.  I also purchased an AMNPS to go with it based on everyone's great endorsements.

After getting the new smoker seasoned I tried to smoke some ribs and really wasn't all that happy with the results.  The temperature of my MES was terribly low, and I just couldn't keep my AMNPS lit.  Thankfully I'm not alone in my problems and I was able to fix all of them with help from this site.  I'm looking forward to posting info about my mailbox mod and Auber PID install in hopes that it might help someone out like everyone's posts helped me.

Thanks!

Drbass

P.S. I know there are several Husker fans on this site.  I'm looking forward to the new season!

If you didn't read the "Terms of Service" notes.....please do.  There are a few things that everyone should know about those pesky little rules before plunging into the forums and some guidelines of how to interact within the forums. Off site links are not allowed here at SMF per Jeff. Not that you have done anything wrong....just a little bit of FYI for new members!

Welcome. You'll love this forum. I just started smoking last fall and had limited success until I found this forum. I have learned so much from the kind members. They are generous with answers to your questions and there are a ton of great ideas in the postings. One of the ways I learned the most was posting my projects with pictures and I always got support, advice and suggestions for differing ways to do things.

I am sure you will love this forum as much as I do.

As a Canadian, could you let me know what a Husker is? Kidding, we've even heard of the team up here.
