Hi everyone! I'm Mackenzie and I am in the middle of a transition as I begin my Army career, but in the next few months I'll be living in Seattle, WA after some training. I don't have a lot of experience with a grill let alone a smoker, but it's something I've been really interested in learning about and picking up as I start fresh in a new place. Through so basic research I found SMF, tho I'll admit I've never used a forum so I'm not familiar with how they work. If anyone has any forums they suggest for a person looking for techniques, rubs/sauces, and different grills/smokers for a beginner to research before they make a purchase I would greatly appreciate it. Hope y'all are having an awesome day!

You're already here! This forum is exactly what you say you're looking for. Poke around and read up, there's a lot of information here.

And if you're in the Army, ask your fellow soldiers about grilling/bbq advice, I'll bet they'll have a lot to share. Or, they might prank you and tell you how to broil a Claymore.

Hello and welcome to SMF from another hot day in East Texas. You will find lots of information here in the different forums and threads. And members willing to help and answer your questions.
