New to the forum. Just ordered a new Rec Tec and can't wait to get it, should be here this week. Have been using a Charbroil gas vertical smoker and recently stared using a Masterbuilt electric. Decided to try out the Rec Tec after seeing all the great comments on here about it.

scubadog,
Welcome, from southern Ohio, to the best forum on the internet if you are looking to learn how to BBQ/smoke/brine/cure/inject. Well you get the picture if you can do it to to something you put on a plate to eat then someone here has probably done it. Use the search bar at the top of the page and you will be led to the answer to most every question you can think of. If you don't find the answer there then just post it and someone will chime in with there opinion on the subject.
I am shure you will be happy with your Rec-Tec!! As a fellow pellet pooper owner
{I have a Yoder YS640} you will be amazed how well these things work!! You will get a nice light smokey flavor on everything you cook. Pizzas are superb!! If you are into a stronger smoke flavor than you get from your rec-tec I would recomend an AMNTS smoker tube from one of the forum sponcers A-MAZE-N Products. Very easy to use and it adds that extra smoke flavor I love. You can find them under the Sponsors tab at the top of every page.
Again Welcome!!
Keep Smokin!!!

Great you are one step ahead of the game!! I don't use mine with everything I smoke because I was suprised at the smoke flavor in the meats with basicaly no visable smoke from the grill. Just like the stronger smoke on butts and briskets and such. It also comes in real handy for reverse searing steaks they come out Great!
