Hello, I came across here trying to find a recipe for my suckling pig that I will be smoking for my wedding this weekend. I have a chargriller with side box smoker. Got a 40lber before dressing and am not sure what it will weigh when my friend brings it down to me. I have heard of lots of varying times of how long this will take and figure I have found the right place for the answers. Any help would be greatly apprieciated. Cheers! Mike

Well congrats on the upcoming wedding, and welcome to the SMF.

Mike, A 40 lb. is not going to make much meat. Hope your party is small. You might get 15-20 lbs. of meat. 10-15 hrs. is my quess. Depends on smoker/wind/ things like that. Good luck with smoke. Congrats on the wedding.

Cook the pig, forget the wedding. Just kidding welcome to the SMF. One of our whole pig experts should be along soon.
