Just bought a well seasoned smoker from a friend. It is a Bradley 4 shelf that is well used but in good condition.

What would be a good first start for smoking?  I have zero experience smoking but have spent many an hour at the BBQ. Looking for any advice.

thank you and happy smoking

Hello from Sherwood Park.  Usually people can smell my smoking food for blocks and we love it.

Welcome to the board! Many of us recommend starting with chicken pieces since it's inexpensive and quick. Another trick is to set out some pop-open type biscuits to see where your hot and cold spots are.

Welcome to the forum.

My vote goes to chicken thighs or wings.

Both are easy to smoke & cheap.
