Hello from East Tennessee

Hi everyone.  My name is Jeff, and I currently live in Knoxville, Tennessee.  I grew up on the Tennessee / Kentucky state line on the west side of Tennessee and have been all over most of the South as well as a 5 year stretch in Texas.  I've always loved BBQ, and getting a chance to try everything from Texas brisket to West KY BBQ mutton has been a great experience.  I spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but while my wife and I shop for a house, we live in a place that I can't have a gas or charcoal grill.  I have been debating for about a year about buying an electric smoker, so any feedback on those would be much appreciated.

In the meantime, I spend a lot of time working on my own seasonings and rubs, and Sunday I took my first stab at making my own sausage.  I look forward to learning what I can from everyone.  It looks like a great forum.

Welcome aboard, Jeff!  Glad you joined us.  You've found a great place to learn and share ideas.  Lots of friendly and knowledgeable folks here who really enjoy helping one another.  Just ask when you need help and you'll get plenty.  Masterbuilt (MES) is a pretty good electric smoker.  Lots of members here, me included, own one.

Thanks, folks.  I've read over all the rules and am ready to go.  As for the picture request, here's my first stab at sausage.  I'm a big fan of chorizo and since I wasn't planning to smoke this batch, I thought that was a good start.
