My name is Mike by occupation I am a IT Specialist but have always enjoyed cooking, to the point of friends telling me I should have been a chef, and although I would probably love it I just don't want that type of schedule.  I am currently living in the midwest, De Soto, KS to be exact.  I have been cooking since I can remember and when it comes to outdoor cooking for the past 20 years I have always used either a Weber Charcoal grill or my trusty reliable Member Mark Gas Grill from Sam's (manufactured by Grand Hall).  I have been looking at Pellet Smokers for years now and finally took the leap about a month ago buying a Green Mountain Daniel Boone Pellet Grill with wifi control (being a IT Specialist I just could not pass up on that geeky wifi solution).  I had been looking at Pellet Grills for years and really loved the MAK 2 Star General but as my dad once said I had a champagne taste but beer budget, and to be honest in one month absolutely no complaints on the Green Mountain it has been used 2-3 times a week and have used it for just about everything so far, definitely a great pellet grill in the under $1000 range.

Welcome Mike! :welcome:
Congrats on the new Green Mountain. Be sure to post pics and recipes of your smokes. Glad to have you here.
