Central Oregon
Hello from Central Oregon in the high desert. My name is Clayton. My smoking experience goes back to the late 1960's and helping my Grampa smoke salmon, sturgeon, and smelt in a wood fired smoke house in Northwest Oregon. Lots of fish went through that old smoker in those days. Since then I have smoked in an old  oven converted, a Brinkman all-in-one propane smoker, and a garage sale find wood fired vertcal barrel type smoker which is a PITA to keep going. I found this site while researching vertical propane smokers and just ordered a Landmann 3405GLA   which should arrive Friday. I plan to season it and then break it in with a couple of whole chickens. I will take pics and hopefully post Qview. I would like to thank everyone for providing this wonderful site with all it's useful information and look forward to contributing whenever I can.

Good news. The new smoker just arrived . Opened it up and everything is there and no shipping damage. I got a good laugh reading the instructions with all the spelling and gramar errors. Evidently the Chinese don't hang their meat they hing it cause it came with a meat hinger.

Welcome Red Dog!!!

I got a 24" planer made in Taiwan awhile back.

It had a tag on the cord, that was supposed to say, "This Machine Is Factory Wired".

It actually said, "This Machine is Factory Weird".

That was 20 years ago, and it still cracks me up, but most people on this forum can tell you I am easily amused.

That is funny Bearcarver. I think my favorite was a folding lawn chair with a tag that said "standing on chair could cause serious death". That's the worst kind.
