Hello everyone, new to smoking after getting a Masterbuilt 40" Electric smoker w/Bluetooth for my birthday last week from my fiance.
I am smoking the family turkey starting around 4 am tomorrow morning. Going with a mixture of apple and hickory chips. Wondering if I should use dry or wet chips. I have some soaking now.

Welcome from SC. This is a great site with lots of folks who are always eager to share their ideas and tips. All you have to do is ask and keep reading. Please don't soak any chips or any other wood. The steam from the wet wood holds the heat down and also makes extra white smoke. Keep the wood dry, the fire hot and the smoke thin and blue.

Good luck and good smokin', Joe
