Back in the states, I'm from Michigan, but for the past 5 years, Afghanistan has pretty much been home. I'm a security contractor and have to go where the work is, and unfortunately it's not usually in nice places.
I get home a couple of times a year, and even though I'm relatively new to smoking, it's one of the first things I do after I arrive. Like I said I'm a newbie, and the information I'm finding in the forums is incredible. With the cost of meat these days, the last thing I want to do is mess up an expensive cut. The information on preparation, smoking times and temps, wood types, etc, etc. etc.is a great help. Before I read your forums, the only bark I'd ever heard of came from a dog or was on the outside of a tree.
The only thing that sucks about this site, is it makes me hungry for things I can't have for another 5 or 6 months. When I read the recipe's and techniques, I want to head right to the store and pick up meat for my next project. Oh well, it is what it is. Even though all I can do now is read about smoking, it makes home seem just a little bit closer. Thanks again.
