Hi there all. I have just recently received a Chargrill Smokin-Pro from my wifes step dad. I am really interested in the overall setup and basic techniques involved in smoking. I have been looking at some of the mods people have done for this smoker and as cool as they are I don't think that i am ready for that just yet. Any advice ya'll could offer would be great. C-ya later. And I have already signed up for the five day course.

Welcome to SMF! I'm fairly new to smoking meat and let me tell you... this is a GREAT place to be a part of. Folks here are ready and willing to help you out with any questions you might have so don't be shy about asking.

We're glad to have you with us.

Welcome to the SMF, best smokin site on the net. Don't let the mods intimidate you, everyone goes through them to a certain degree. Keep reading around, it'll really help the learning curve. Good Luck my new friend.

Welcome aboard, glad to have you with us!

I also have the CharGriller Smokin' Pro, and I love it! I have modified mine ALOT, but as Rich sez, don't let the mods intimidate you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!

Welcome aboard. Nice to have you. Signing up for the eCourse was a good idea. And you have already found out that Hawg has the same smoker as you. On just your first day, you are already dialed in to a mentor. As he and the others say, don't let the mods bother you. I would just cruise the site for a few days. If you have specific mods that interest you, use the search button to browse through and find relevant information. It may be weeks or even months before you decide to make any mods. Just keep reading current posts and even some of the older stuff, and get familiar with your smoker. Post all your curiosity and questions. Someone will be there to give you some opinions or advice. I don't think Hawg will mind me saying this, but since he has the exact model, e-mail or PM him, if you get really stuck on something.

Good luck,

Skip

No problem, feel free to PM, email, or smack me in the back of the head to get my attention, just ask questions!

Thanks for the kind words Skip!
