Hello From A Hoosier

Hello everyone! New guy from Indy here. Somewhat of a beginner here, but I've been fumbled my way through a number of cookouts with baby back ribs and chicken legs over the years and have decided to take my game to the next level! I got a cheap CharGriller gas grill as a father's day present a few years back and I promptly knocked the side out and bolted on the side fire box and have stopped using the gas altogether!

Grew up in Nebraska (think football tailgates), then spent a lot of time in Kansas City for college (where my love of BBQ started) and now I'm determined to bring good smoking practices to as least my house in Indy.

Can't wait to through the Smoking Basics Ecourse and start smoking!

Hello and Welcome to our addiction.  Many good folks here with a load of experience that they are more than willing to share.  If you have specific questions just start a thread and someone with experience will be along soon to offer advice.  All info you can provide us with such as smoker type, location and so on will help us answer any questions you may have, and pictures help a bunch.  Spend some time doing some research on the forums, tons of advice and recipes already available there.  Check out Jeff’s 5 day smoking E-Course ( link below ) that will help you get started.  Couple other good threads to help you get started included.  We look forward to your contributions.  Have fun.  Good luck.  Keep Smokin!

Hey Soderque, you'll find good advice here. Although, being from Evansville myself, I know that you can tell a Hoosier, but you can't tell him much.
