Hello there!

My name is Chad and I'm currently a Deputy Sheriff in the Kansas City, MO area.

My wonderful wife purchased me a Masterbuilt 30" with a window for Christmas (on it's way from Home Depot).

I found the 40" at Sam's Club for the same price, $299.00, so we purchased that one today and will return the 30" when it arrives.  Stopped by Cabela's today as well and showed her the size difference. She agreed that we needed the 40"!

Anyways, I've experimented with smoking a few times with a propane job we got a few years back, but I could never get the temp/hours correct.

I'm looking forward to learning a ton from all of you and I'm especially glad I found this forum!

Cya around!

Chad

Good thinking on the 40.  In a year or two when word gets out about the delicious food to be had at your place, you'll be glad you have that extra space!

First off welcome to SMF there Chad. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.

I've got two beer can chickens and some wings in the smoker now.  I took some pictures of the before and will do so when they are done.
