hey everybody,

just thought that i will post up and say hi after lurking for over a year.

i am using a Chargiller Smokin' Pro with great results.

i have been smoking for about 18 months and cant get enough.

Most of what i have  been doing is dry curing and smoking pork belly so i have adapted the Smokin' Pro to run on propane but retained the ability to use charcoal and wood. The only reason for the gas is to maintain temps in the bitter Canadian winters here in Alberta. believe it or not even when its -10F i can still keep it at 170F in the un-insulated smoker.

Welcome to the SMF. I think many of us started out as lurker's, and then we moved up just like you did. It's all good my friend.

Welcome... Glad you decided to join us. It seems as though you come with polished skills already. Maybe you can take some pics of the mods you've done to your smoker. I know I'd like to see them and I sure many others would too.

First off Welcome Firefly to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. I'm looking forward to see some of your bacon threads here in the near future too. I really enjoy the whole bacon and sausage making that I have been doing for a year or so. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.

Welcome To Your New Addiction
