Just wanted to introduce myself.
My Real name is Rich, SQWIB is my Nick name.
I am totaly new to this forum and this type of cooking, although I have fond memories of my father smoking Mackeral, boy I loved that Smoked Mackeral.
I find as my Parents get Older (70's) I feel compelled to learn as much from them as possible. I dont want to squander any of the wisdom that they have to offer.
Thats what brings me here, for years Dad has reminisced about smoking and for years I have said "one day I will try smoking"
Well received my smoker and cured it last night and toyed with the temperature settings.
I had to laugh my 2 younger ones 5 and 9 kept asking me what I was smoking.
Last time I heard that was from Mom, coming home late from a party!

I have a webshots link posted in my signature.

Welcome aboard Rich, glad you found us!

Hey You're in Philly? We're practically neighbors.. I live outside of Newark, DE, just off I-95 near the Christiana Mall.

Have fun!

Wecome to the SMF. You'll find some very friendly folks here who are more than willing to help you get on the road to Smokin' USA.

Hey Bro where about are you? I'm in Mayfair. Man you picked the right place to come. These guys & gals know their stuff. And dude you don't have to be afraid to ask questions, they will help you out. I've learned so much since I've been here. It makes you feel so good to see the out come of your smokes. All of a sudden the neighbors start to like you. I live right at Frankford and Cottman, so you know I don't have a lot of room. But every one knows when I'm smokin, LOVE THAT SMELL. Well good luck and stick around it's really ablast. The only problem is, this will take over your life, all you will start thinking about is "What am I going to smoke next, and where can I find the meat"

Welcome to SMF. Looking forward to reading about your first smoke.

Welcome, and glad to have ya.

Yanno, the parents thing really pulled a heartstring with me. Last year, I actually took video of my Grandma makingsome of my favorite things. At 89, she can still cook, slice dice, fillet, mash, squeeze, stir, beat, ...etc... rings around me!

Welcome in, Rich. We're glad you're here!

Let's see, judging by your pictures....you like to camp in your RV. You like to smoke meats. You like to hang out with your family and friends. Are you my long lost brother?
