Hello, My name is Jeremiah. I am from Eau Claire, WI. I'm a newbie to the smoking meats world so any tips will be greatly appreciated. I have a brand new Masterbuilt Sportsman Elite 30" smokehouse. I bought Oklahoma Joe's apple and hickory chips for my first run. I decided to get into this hobby due to my father-in-law and my love for smoke meats.  Anyways Im glad to be part of this site.

Jeremiah, Hello and welcome to the forum!  You'll find lots of great info and friendly people here. Is your Masterbuilt smoker electric or propane? Others here might know the sportsman name, but I've not heard it. I'm sure you're going to love this site, I have learned a lot here. David.

Good morning and welcome to the forum, from a cloudy and soon to be raining again day here in East Texas. Lots of great people with tons of information on just about  everything.

Gary

Hello again Jeremiah. You can find a lot of MES info in the MES owners group, Which can be found by searching groups above. There's a bunch of us here! Also, for smoking lessons for just about anything you want to smoke, look for "Bears step by steps" in the search bar above. Bear did a great job putting a ton of info in there. You'll also hear people tell you to get a Maverick or other temp probes because the MES probes are usually off. It really will make your smokes go a lot smoother. Do some research and if you still have ?s post them, that's why we're all here-to learn from each other. Happy smokin', David.
