Houston Texas here.  I'd have to say I'm a so-so smoker but I'm getting better.  I have a ECB I use for smoking but I'd like to move up.  I've seen a few videos on YouTube about how to build an UDS but I'm having a bit of problem locating a drum.  If anyone knows where I can get one in the Houston area, I'd much appreciate it!

I tried Craigs list but I got no response from those ads I tried.  What is Thrifty Nickel?

May be called something different there, It's a little paper they put out every Thursday mostly at convenience  stores (Free) People list all kind of thing for sale. If all else fails there is plenty of information on this site to build one.  I think most everyone does build their own.

Righto.  I think I have enough info to build it and the other materials are available...I just can't find the drum yet.  Not giving up, tho!

Just about got the UDS done although the I saved the worst for last...burning out the lining.  Once that is done, seasoning and some touch up paint!
