Hi Guys,

I've been lurking on the sight for about a week now and debating between to smokers the OKJ Longhorn and the Brinkman Trailmaster.  I leaning towards the longhorn.  Any input pros/cons of each?  I'm looking forward to learning and smoking!!!

Thanks,

Tadow

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.

I cant stand offsets so no need to ask me..lol  They attempt to violate too many laws of physics..most especially the hot air rising thing.

Thanks SeenRed!  bigwheel, what do you recommend?

Welcome to the fourm from Maryland. I started with a Brinkman grill with a propane smoker on the bottom, and within 3 months I bought a Brinkman snp . I liked that cheaply made sheet metal smoker, and I learned a lot smoking all winter last year. This fall I bought a Meadow Creek sq36. I love it. Stick burning is always a learning experience. I us it almost every weekend, and do cheese after work on week nights. I just let it cool from ribs and chicken today and covered it for the 14 inches of snow due tonight. Happy smoking.

Well next one I am going for is a Smokin Tex. I got an pal who has one and will not shut up about how cool it is. He caters for some of the other offset and pellet pooper pals. Been hearing it now has a clone for quite a bit less money..but forget the name of it right now. I saw the name on other message a few mins ago. Now if a person is a rich crazy guy with comp aspirations would prob head for a BWS or a Stumps. The cheesy little pits with the water and chips on the same level drives me crazy. Ok this is the Smokin Tex clone. Think I could live with it.

Ok I went and looked at it. Way too small for serious bizness. Go back to the Smokin Tex.
