I am not new to smoking meat I have just never had a smoker at the house.  I have been reading this fourm for a while and got some good ideas for a smoker build so I thought I  would join and post my build thread for aditional ideas and input being that I have never built somethingh like this before.  I learned to cook working in my (now) father in laws restraunt thru high school and tech collage.   He had a cookshack smoker and it was sweet.  (if you like set it and forget it) so that is the way I plan to start.  I will build a electric smoker and try to get some good meat from it and then get into charcol as I learn more. Thanks in advance for any help you may provide as I will need a lot.

First off Welcome to SMF. You'll like it here for there are alot of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking. Now there are alot of proven recipes for some amazing things here too. So if you need sign up for the E-Course it's free and it will give you the basics of smoking and some good methods to use also. So the next big thing for you to do is go out and get you something to smoke and if you happen to have any questions just post it here and we will be happy to answer them for you.
