Hello All,
Names Matt, and I have been lurking for a while. Been an active member of other forums mostly around Baseball. I had a son who played in college, but now has graduated so it is time to expand my horizons.
My first smoker was bought back in the early 2000's. It is a Briknmann Smoke 'n' Pit Professional. Started smoking Pork Loins and moved to Butts and Ribs. No Modifications and it took me a while to learn her, but eventually I turned out some very good Que. Well the Old Girl is getting a bit rusty and needs an overhaul. But I was not ready to shut down BBQing while I refurbished her. So after much reading and considering I bought a Brinkmann Trailmaster Limited Edition Vertical. I did not want another Horizontal, because I plan to put the old girl back in commission and then I will have two.
Ordered it from Bass Pro when they had a sale. It was delivered quickly but I let it sit until all the family was gone, so I could put it together in peace. I sealed it up as per several threads on these forums. I took my time and it was really nice not to have any interruptions'. First use the Pork came out really good but ride was a bit bumpy. Learned a lot though and the second smoke went much better.
Can't wait to refurbish my old Girl and make some of the Mods to her. Maybe wife will let me get a third one in another decade.
Thanks for letting me join.
Matt
