Hello all:
drool.gif

I am Robert

I live in Jacksonville Fla

I work for Jacksonville Fire Dept as a Paramedic/Firefighter for the past 20 years.

I am 52 years old and have lived in Florida all of my life. I enjoy good BBQ and I am the brother in law of Callahan4life (David). (Yes I do get to eat some of his GREAT BBQ)

I am new to cooking BBQ and love to learn how to do new things so now I would like to learn about how to cook my own home cooked BBQ.

I live just around the corner to in my mind the best BBQ shack in the South it is called Gators BBQ so if you are in Jax give it a try.

I am looking to buy a smoker that I can use for back yard smoking/jerky. I have been looking at the smoke hollow 30" and it is electric.

Well that is about it so glad to be here on the site.

Good eats..

Robert

Welcome to the SMF.....I'm sure with a little time you'l be making better Que than Gator's. My son is also a Paramedic/Firefighter but still on the job, about 15 years now. Thanks for 20 years of great service to your community, I understand how tough that job can be. Enjoy retirement and smoking up a storm.

I am sure he can get as good as Gators, they are very good. Gators does it old school and traditional. Dry rubs, hand picked meats, homebuilt stick burner. They don't serve junk.
