I just got a new upright propane smoker the owners manual call fou a small blue flame on low but mine is yellow and to hot my wood chips are catching fire and drying out my drip pan I like to smoke at about 275 but it always runs up to about 350 on low any suggestions thanx

What the name/brand of smoker you have? Sounds like an issue with the valve. When you adjust from low-high and then back down again, do you notice if the flame is changing at all?
