Hello!  I recently purchased a 22.5 WSM and have done a few smokes on it.  However, I haven't been able to find good heat resistant gloves to adjust the bottom vents with.  My wife had gotten me some silicone grilling gloves that claimed they were heat proof.  They were great for grabbing the meat and grill grates but when i went to adjust one of the vents, I was immediately burned right through the glove.  I started using pliers to adjust, but they are leaving marks on the vents.  What does everyone else use to not burn themselves?  Suggestions would be appreciated.  Thank you!

This doesn't really answer the question, but another option is to nudge the vent with something.  I will use a piece of wood or bbq tongs to make slight adjustments.  If the vent is sticky, I often will just lightly tap whatever I'm using to nudge it with a small tack hammer.
