Anyone tried smoking boneless/skinless chicken breasts or any other healthy lean cuts of beef? If it works, it would be an awesome way to lose weight!

I lost 35 pounds last year by basically eating boneless skinless chicken breasts for 2 meals every day (with other stuff, of course, but this was the base for every meal).

I brine them for 2 hours, roll in seasoning and smoked each breast in flat pieces of foil with the edges lifted, to catch the drippings. Just added a little bit of red wine in the bottom to keep them from drying out. You can flip them if you like, but I never do.

I will have to say, it's not brisket or pulled pork. But I have a cholesterol problem and this allows me to keep up with the hobby and not have a stroke at the same time.

With that said, they're a whole lot better when you soak them in EVOO and wrap them in bacon!

I just did some Saturday. Hope to have the Qvue up later today. I brined them overnight, then rinsed for an hour, rub with my favorite rub and smoked at 250-300 for about 2 hours (IT around 170). They are tender and juicy. I'm on a diet so, like Geek said, allows me to continue smoking and still (hopefully) lose some weight.

  6. I think I'm going to have to smoke a little more chicken breast myself.
Since I joined the forum I've packed on more pounds then I needed to.[IMG]
All the recipes from the members have been great and I've smoked lots of them and they all have tasted great,to great.
I've been smoking almost everyday for the last few weeks and it shows by my weight.
I'm not much of a chicken man myself but I'll do it so that I can smoke some pork and beef in between the chicken.[IMG]
I'll be looking for some good recipes on smoking chicken breasts on the forum.[IMG]
