Heading to Algoma Wisc

in the morning with 5 friends to do a quick salmon fishing trip. Long drive from Kansas, but hopefully it will be worth it.  I have never fished for salmon before, so am looking forward to it! Hopefully I'll be back looking for some good tips on smoking/grilling salmon later!

Don't know for sure, but I bet someone sells Alder wood in that area of the country.

The man power guy for the company I work for was just in Algoma and the did fantastic.I think you will really enjoy the fishing there this year.Salmon fishing is a funny game things have to be just right and bingo you have great fishing.Last Friday I had some friends over we had some salmon I cooked in the smoker stuck a temp probe in and when it hit 145 "done" was great.I like smoked salmon for snacking on cracker or what have you but this was better.Take some f view and post when you get back.Best of luck but from what I have heard and read their biting.Bill
