Al here, from North Alabama. My wife got me a nice present last fall: a Char Broil Silver Smoker. Love the thing, it's a lot more easier to use than my old vertical 55 gallon barrel.

My specialty is Fred Flintstone beef ribs, pics enclosed. I have now have a total of two smokes with 4 briskets in the last three weeks, thank god, no one's died yet.

Just scored some free firewood, hopefully maple and oak, check out my plea for help in the wood forum.

    Thanks,

    Al

Welcome to SMF Albin...glad to have ya. Honestly, all that wood looks OK... the "branchy" stuff looks to be fruit or maple, and the other straighter stuff is probably oak.

    Hey Albin,
Welcome to the forum, we have some great people here with a gangload of knowledge who love helping. Keep the q-view comming and great looking ribs by the way. I have yet to try beef ribs, that could be next before I go for brisket.

    Have fun and smoke on.
